A pyrolysis plant that processes tyres converts outdated tyres and waste plastic into fuel oil. Plastic and waste tyres are the “raw materials” in these particular plants. The materials are processed in waste tire pyrolysis equipment which converts the waste into fuel.

The Principle Of A Tyre Pyrolysis Plant

The principle for these types of plants follows a process where a reactor heats the materials or waste to generate an oil gas. The oil gas then passes through a condenser when the gas changes into liquid oil. The liquid oil is then used by various industries and in vehicles as a source of fuel.

The oil gas that does not react in the condenser is then recycled and sent to the burner or reactor for the cycles that follow. This ensures that a pyrolysis plant is always using recyclable energy.

How Does A Tyre Pyrolysis Plant Work?

As mentioned before, waste plastic and worn-out tyres are the main raw materials used in these plants. Here is more information on how these plants work:

Feeding The Raw Materials

The first step involves feeding the materials into a pyrolysis reactor via an automated feeding machine. The reactor should be kept at least 1/3 empty to ensure the raw materials are rotating properly. The inlet of the feeding machine should also be closed tightly to allow the materials to mix thoroughly. Or you view different pyrolysis plant business plan to decide feeding system.

Heating The Reactor

When the reactor is heated it will gently burn the materials inside. This is an important method to convert waste materials into “combustible fuel”. When the chamber has reached 100o C the reactor will release oil gas. From here the heavier oil gas will separate before entering the condenser. In the condenser, the oil gas will liquefy and drop into the heavy-oil tank.

The lighter gas rises up to an oil condenser where it will liquefy in an oil tank above. Any non-condensable gas will undergo dedusting and desulfurization and then pass into the furnace which is connected to the pyrolysis reactor where it is recycled and used as a secondary source of heat.

Cooling Down

The reactor will cool down as soon as it has produced a “batch” of fuel oil. Once the temperature has dropped below 40o C, the reactor will automatically discharge a product known as carbon black.

Purifying The Leftover Gas

There will be a small amount of gas left behind in the chamber. This gas can be recycled as long as it is purified by passing the gas through the smoke-cleaning system. This step ensures that the gas satisfies the different emission standards. This step also allows you to make sure your reactor is prepared for the next batch. Leaving residue in the condenser or reactor may have an effect on the next batch of production, which can lower the overall quality of the fuel.

Pyrolysis plants have become essential plants when it comes to helping the environment and keeping surroundings clean. It recycles waste such as plastic and tyres and turns it into a fuel that can then be used for many different purposes.
